What is your goal?
Many people still believe the best way to burn fat and to lose weight is through aerobic exercise when in fact jumping off the treadmill and focusing on strength training is the key to get you results. If your goal is to lose fat then don’t go for a run. You can run because you like to run, but not to accomplish your goal of losing fat. Aerobic exercise actually makes your body hold onto fat rather than burn it!
During a steady-state aerobic workout your body does burn a higher percentage of calories from fat, however your body adapts quickly and therefore you burn less and less calories. Your body is very smart; it adapts and starts being very efficient at storing fat. Therefore your body actually burns less fat to do the same work!
The goal for fat loss is to boost up your metabolism. Interval training, increasing lean muscle tissue and a proper nutritional plan are great ways to rev up your metabolism and get you the body you want. Research has proven this multiple times.
