Meet Steve!
Having back surgery is a stressor to the body. Having 4 surgeries with the last one fusing the spine from T11 to S1 is a big deal!
Being very active and strong, cycling, skiing, playing tennis, having this 4th surgery really put a stop to his activities.
After the 4th operation, “there was never really any follow up from the surgeons. They performed their tasks and basically said, “ease your way into walking; see you in 6 months”. No protocol or direction was prescribed thereafter.
Upon referral from a friend, Steve consulted with us to get a gym program to get stronger. We evaluated the situation and we regretfully said, “Steve, you aren’t ready just yet”. He trusted us and knew that we were creating an Action Plan to get him to where he wanted and needed to be. It started with therapy.
“What impressed me is the whole evaluation and assessment process with a plan to systematically move forward as I progressed. There was a lot of testing and re-evaluating, maintenance and constant follow up measuring progress.
Working closely together has resulted in superb results and Steve having much better greater mobility. Back to biking, skiing, hiking, photography and even sculpting (a great one at that!)
“Surgeons are skilled technicians, who for the most part, are great at their trade. They truly lack 1 major thing and this is The “SPORT Specialists” business card that they can give to their patients“
Thanks Steve. We appreciate your kind words and are looking forward to putting even more spring in your step!
