Our Montreal-based team of athletic therapists, osteopaths, massage therapists and reconditioning specialists work together to deliver integrative treatment tailored to you. Melanie Scrase

B.Sc., CAT(C), Athletic Therapist & Co-founder

Melanie co-founded The S.P.O.R.T. Specialists in 2000 after years of working with elite athletes and sports medicine clinics across Montreal. A certified Athletic Therapist since 1997 and former varsity athlete, she brings deep insight into injury recovery and performance. Her approach blends manual therapy, strength training, and advanced mobility work—including Fascial Stretch Therapy and Titleist Level II Golf Fitness—to help clients move better, heal faster, and stay active.

Peter Levidis

B.Sc., CAT(C), Athletic Therapist & Co-founder

Peter co-founded The S.P.O.R.T. Specialists in 2000 and brings over 25 years of experience in athletic therapy, strength training, and high-performance coaching. A certified Athletic Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Specialist, he’s also a CHEK Golf Biomechanics Practitioner with a track record that includes Olympic sailors and the Montreal Canadiens. Peter co-authored the Amazon best-seller Get with the Program, and continues to share his expertise through published articles, speaking engagements, and ongoing education in reconditioning.

Graham Rynbend

Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C)

Graham brings over 25 years of experience in high-performance rehab and injury management, including his tenure as Head Athletic Therapist for the Montreal Canadiens. Known for his expertise in complex injury care and team-based recovery, he’s worked extensively with elite athletes to support safe, effective return to sport. Graham holds a B.Sc. in Exercise Science from Concordia, and is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and Sports Emergency Medical Responder.

Benjamin Marceau

B.Sc. CAT(C)
Benjamin is a Certified Athletic Therapist with a passion for injury prevention, rehab, and concussion management. Since earning his B.Sc. in Exercise Science from Concordia in 2015, he’s worked with athletes of all levels to support safe recovery and long-term performance. Known for his strong listening skills and client-first approach, Benjamin creates personalized treatment plans that help people move better, heal fully, and return to what they love—confidently and safely.

Julia Legler

B.Sc., CAT(C) - Certified Athletic Therapist
Julia is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Concordia graduate with a background in Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology. Since earning her national certification in 2022, she’s worked with athletes across football, soccer, and dance—from youth to collegiate level. Her approach combines hands-on therapy with movement-focused rehab to help clients recover from injury and improve long-term function. A former competitive dancer and intercity soccer player, Julia brings real-world athletic insight to every assessment and training plan she creates.

Kathryn Grzelak

B.SC., CAT(C) - Certified Athletic Therapist
Kathryn studied Exercise Science with a specialization in Athletic Therapy at Concordia University. Throughout her degree, she completed internships with Concordia Varsity, John Abbott College rugby, as well as the Perform Center clinic. She graduated and became certified as an Athletic Therapist in June 2015. Since then, Kathryn has been working in strength and conditioning as both a personal trainer and a coach for a small group training program. She continues to work with various sports teams on the field, including AAA soccer, CEGEP level hockey and football. Kathryn was a competitive swimmer throughout most of her youth, and has recently joined a soccer team and began taking golf lessons. She is passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle, which has kept her involved in sports. Her aim is to help clients achieve their goals through both therapy and training, and emphasizes teaching them proper movement patterns.

Xanthi Gazetis

D.O., B.Sc, CAT(C)
Xanthi graduated from Concordia University in 2000, obtaining her Bachelor in Exercise Science, specializing in Athletic Therapy; she became certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association in 2001. Xanthi worked at the CBI Concordia Physio Sport NDG from 2003 to 2021. From 2009 to 2020, Xanthi was the managing partner of the clinic. She obtained her osteopathy diploma in 2009 from the “Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal” and completed her thesis on the “Effectiveness of Osteopathic Treatment on Plantar Fasciitis”.

Erica Cavallo

B.Sc., CAT(C), D.O. - Osteopath
Erica is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Osteopath with over 15 years of experience in injury rehab and holistic care. After earning her B.Sc. in Exercise Science from Concordia and becoming certified in 2007, she went on to complete her diploma in Osteopathy in 2017, with a thesis focused on fibromyalgia and the brain-gut connection. Erica blends manual therapy and osteopathic techniques to treat a wide range of clients—from newborns to older adults—supporting everything from musculoskeletal recovery to digestive health.

Massage Therapists

Marie Reine Guirguis

Marie-Reine is a Sports Massage Therapist with over 20 years of experience and a strong foundation in Athletic Therapy, having earned her B.Sc. from Concordia University. She’s certified in sports massage, Shiatsu, kinesiotherapy, myofascial release, and manual mobilization techniques. With additional training in pharmacology, Marie-Reine brings a unique blend of clinical knowledge and hands-on expertise to support recovery, reduce pain, and promote healing for both new and long-standing injuries.

Tania Bassila

QITCM, Quebec Institute in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Tania is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and specializes in restoring balance through hands-on techniques that target both muscular and energetic imbalances. A graduate of the Quebec Institute in Traditional Chinese Medicine (QITCM), she integrates methods like Tui Na massage, cupping, and Guasha to release tension, reduce pain, and support the body’s natural healing process.
