{"id":15136,"date":"2017-11-08T22:01:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T03:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.sportspecialists.ca\/?p=372"},"modified":"2017-11-08T22:01:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T03:01:00","slug":"stop-squeezing-the-stress-ball-a-huge-thank-you-for-making-our-fundraiser-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportspecialists.ca\/fr\/2017\/11\/08\/stop-squeezing-the-stress-ball-a-huge-thank-you-for-making-our-fundraiser-a\/","title":{"rendered":"Stop squeezing the stress ball!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STOP SQUEEZING THAT STRESS BALL!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some people have a stress ball or tennis ball that they squeeze to relieve them of some aggravation.&nbsp; That&rsquo;s fine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But when someone has an elbow\/wrist tendinitis, squeezing a stress ball hurts but may also be contributing to the injury!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The forearm has muscles that flex and extend the elbow, wrist and fingers.&nbsp; There has to be adequate muscle balance between these muscle groups much like having a proper balance between pushing and pulling muscle of the shoulders, chest and back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By continuously squeezing a stress ball, you are re-enforcing the finger, wrist and forearm flexors making them stronger but ignoring the ones that extend the fingers, wrist and elbow!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>QUICK FIX:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Grab a thick elastic band (the ones you find around stalks of broccoli), place it around your fingers and open and close your fingers.&nbsp; Simple.&nbsp; Do this until there is a slight fatigue in your forearm every day and you create better symmetry in your arm!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sportspecialists.ca\/content\/uploads\/download-1.jpg\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 168px;\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>STOP SQUEEZING THAT STRESS BALL!
