{"id":13186,"date":"2015-11-18T17:37:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T22:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.sportspecialists.ca\/?p=198"},"modified":"2015-11-18T17:37:00","modified_gmt":"2015-11-18T22:37:00","slug":"aerobic-vs-resistance-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportspecialists.ca\/fr\/2015\/11\/18\/aerobic-vs-resistance-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Aerobic vs resistance training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is your goal?<\/p>\n<p>Many people still believe the best way to burn fat and to lose weight is through aerobic exercise when in fact jumping off the treadmill and focusing on strength training is the key to get you results.\u00a0 If your goal is to lose fat then don\u2019t go for a run all the time.\u00a0 You can run because you like to run, but not to accomplish your goal of losing fat.\u00a0 Aerobic exercise actually makes your body hold onto fat rather than burn it!<\/p>\n<p>During a steady-state aerobic workout your body does burn a higher percentage of calories from fat, however your body adapts quickly and therefore you burn less and less calories.\u00a0 Your body is very smart; it adapts and starts being very efficient at storing fat.\u00a0 Therefore your body actually burns less fat to do the same work!<\/p>\n<p>The goal for fat loss is to boost up your metabolism.\u00a0 Interval training, increasing lean muscle tissue and a proper nutritional plan are great ways to rev up your metabolism and get you the body you want.<\/p>\n<p>Resistance training builds lean muscle tissue which is the catalyst that stokes the \u00ab\u00a0furnace\u00a0\u00bb to burn more fat. \u00a0Let us help you create a leaner you for the new year coming up!<\/p>\n<p>November is also \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Movember<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb month and Peter is growing his moustache for the first time in helping to raise awareness and funds to fight against prostate and testicular cancers amongst other ailments!<\/p>\n<p>We will be running <strong>TWO<\/strong> special classes!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Sun\/dim, Movember 22 @ 9:30am (POLAR class)<br \/>\nSat\/sam, Movember 28 @ 7:00am (Metabolic C)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Participation in the classes is by donation.<br \/>\nAll proceeds will go to the <strong>Canadian Movember Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please help the cause by making a charitable donation of your choice by clicking on the link below!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mobro.co\/peterlevidis\">http:\/\/mobro.co\/peterlevidis<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank you!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is your goal?
